As part of the Elite Club of Nashik’s wildlife protection and environmental conservation initiatives, we organized an awareness campaign to highlight the dangers of using nylon manja for kite flying. While kite flying is a cherished tradition, the use of synthetic thread poses serious risks—not only to birds and the environment but also to human safety.
Nylon manja is known to cause fatal injuries to birds, entangle power lines, and contribute to non-biodegradable waste that harms the ecosystem. It can also lead to severe accidents for kite flyers and pedestrians.
Key Actions in the Campaign
- Educated citizens on the risks of nylon manja to wildlife, people, and the environment
- Promoted safe, biodegradable, and eco-friendly alternatives for kite flying
- Encouraged community pledges to avoid nylon manja and protect local biodiversity
Our Message
Kite flying should be a celebration of joy—not a cause of harm. By choosing eco-friendly manja, we can protect lives, safeguard nature, and keep our traditions safe for everyone.
Flew safe, lived safe.
